Alas, the peak of George Everest Loomed high above, a fearsome test I set out with hope in my heart.
But soon found my journey would be hard.
I climbed and I climbed, with all my might.
But the peak seemed to grow higher in sight I pushed on, through the wind and the cold.
But my strength began to wane, and I grew old.
Finally, I reached the base of the peak.
But my legs would no longer climb, my body weak I looked up at the summit above,
And knew I could not reach it, with a sigh of love
Though I did not reach the top, I know I gave it my all and that's the way it goes I'll treasure the journey, the climb, and the quest,
And look forward to trying again, at my best.
